Since 1744, winemaking is a very important tradition in the Kerpen family. Martin Kerpen is the current owner of the winery and belongs to the 8th generation of the winegrower family. Heribert, Martin’s father, made this 23-acre estate become one of the most renowned in the region of Mosel (Parker *****). When he passed away, his wife Hanna took over the estate until Martin finished his studies to become an engineer in oenology.

Similar to his father, Martin constantly seeks out the best ways to improve the quality of his wines, such as diminishing his vine yields. In addition to making succulent traditional wines, Kerpen produces excellent dry Rieslings. A basic Kabinett Trocken (dry) can be aged up to 10 years.

Very reputable in Germany, Kerpen has also gained international recognition. The Kerpen wines, best known for their very good quality/price ratio, are mainly distributed in Europe and the United States.

The Kerpen Estate is a member of the Bernkasteler Ring, which is one of the oldest auction societies for fine Mosel wines and is exclusive to elite producers of the wine industry.
