Since the 17th century, the Terzuoli family has always been involved in agriculture. In the 1970s, Bruno and Graziella were able to launch a new wine business by combining their rural origins, their love of wine, and their love for each other.

When they first started out, the Terzuolis began planting Sangiovese grapes for the first time, even though their main activity remained the cultivation of cereals and legumes. They instilled in their only son Roberto the same principles of passion and respect for nature and the land on which he grew up.

The 10-hectare vineyard is located at an altitude of 300 meters and faces south and southwest. The native Sangiovese grape variety is grown organically using the Cordon de Royat method, following the authentic techniques and traditions of the Montalcino agronomic community.

To this end, the family takes pride in carefully selecting the grapes by hand before aging them in 3,500- to 5,000-liter Slavonian oak barrels. Roberto’s knowledge of the land was further enriched when he studied agriculture in high school. Roberto has also worked with some of the most renowned vineyards producing Brunello di Montalcino. Building on these experiences, Roberto seized the opportunity to expand the family business.

In accordance with Roberto’s vision, the SassodiSole vineyard was expanded so that 10 hectares of land could be devoted to wine production. In addition, a newly equipped cellar was built to handle the increase in the volume of grapes harvested.

Today, Roberto is SassodiSole’s agronomist and oenologist, but he is also responsible for promoting and marketing the winery’s products.
