Le Trale corresponds to the plots classified as Saint-Estèphe appellation belonging to Château Maurac, which was created from the merger of two properties and a few neighboring plots. Maurac is located in Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne, not far from Saint-Estèphe. It was taken over in 1998 by Mr. Gaudin and Mr. Leroy. Le Trale is the smallest property in the appellation, with an area of only 0.15 hectares. Annual production is around 900 bottles of Merlot. The style of the wines is based on the pursuit of purity of fruit and elegance on the palate.

Traditional vinification without oenological inputs, manual harvesting followed by sorting on a table. Fermentation is carried out in temperature-controlled vats, allowing the fruit to be respected and expressed. Alcoholic fermentation at around 26-28°C. Maceration for 3 to 5 weeks. Aged in barrels for 15 to 18 months without racking, with around 30% in new barrels.

Sustainable viticulture, yield control through sustainable pruning and respect for the vineyard through moderate health protection.
