Located in Savigny-lès-Beaune, in the north of the Côte de Beaune, the Domaine Jean-Michel GIBOULOT owns 12 hectares of vines in the most beautiful appellations (Beaune 1er Cru, Pommard, Savigny 1er Cru, Savigny-lès-Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru) with a majority of Pinot Noir.

Jean-Michel Giboulot took over the family business in 1982 and is the third Giboulot to run the estate. His beautiful vines, partly planted on the "Montagne de Corton", benefit from an excellent sun exposure. The vines are cultivated in organic farming. The youngest parcels are pruned according to the "Royat" method (cordon) to better control the vigorous growth of the vine, while the others are pruned according to the "Guyot" method. The vinification, in stainless steel and wood, is traditional with little intervention by the winemaker and controlled temperatures. His wines show the pure expression of the terroirs from which they come.

Jean-Michel has built up one of the most profitable portfolios in all of Burgundy over the past three decades. His wines from the Burgundy appellation of Savigny-lès-Beaune are recognized as great values, whether red or white. Giboulot’s wines straddle the line between tradition and modernity, with reds that have crisp fruit and fine tannins but plenty of maturity and purity. The whites are made in a feminine style with rounder fruit and a certain elegance that lingers on the palate. His vineyards, outside Savigny, are among the best in the region with eastern exposures that allow full ripeness and fleshy flavor.
